A project  for development around Mbour

8,000 trees between 2015 and 2020

The core activity of the SOCOCIM Foundation, VICAT Group, is offering support for economic entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship in rural areas is one of them.

In 2015, under the aegis of Mrs. Patricia DIAGNE, the SOCOCIM Foundation established an agreement with the IRRIGASC Association to plant 1000 fruit trees and  allow farmers in the village of Sandiara (Mbour region) to establish 11 individual fruit tree plantations with the IRRIGASC process. This program was the start of a long-term partnership between the two organisations.

Since then, this partnership has been renewed every year and together we have planted 8,000 trees with 98 beneficiary families. This represents 196 jobs created over 20 years.

A big thank you to this precious partner for its SUSTAINABLE commitment to agricultural and rural economic development.
